Things to remember when working on this assignment:
- This is to be done IN class each day during Independent Reading rotation. There will be no homework for it. If you are absent or come to class so late that you miss the rotation, you are to write the date and explanation on the log. (Be honest, as I will double check with my attendance.) - The books are to be chosen from the classroom independent reading library of lexiled books. It CANNOT be the same book that you are reading for your Outside Reading Project. Your book MUST BE in your lexile reading range. We have talked about this in great length in class. See the "How to" section on the right to figure out your range. - Please make sure that you fill out ALL information on the log! - I will provide one log per date range. If you run out of room, you may print off more copies at home and bring them with you or you can use notebook paper to create your own. Staple all papers within a date range together and in order, before you turn it in. - You should read the ENTIRE rotation, pausing to complete your TWO required hashtags with supporting text evidence. If you finish your log early, you are still to read. Make sure you make note of your page numbers. (I lowered the requirement this quarter to give you more reading time. Please don't abuse this.) - I WILL take off points if it is obvious that you are not reading (sleeping, talking, doing other work, etc.), EVEN if you complete your log. Be on task to get credit. |

This is the same information copied from the email that I send you each week (also posted on the wall). The current article with due date is also posted on the board.
***READ THE ENTIRE EMAIL DIRECTIONS!!! FOLLOW THESE STEPS: 1. Read the article and complete 3-5 central idea hashtags. Record them in the Summarize boxes beneath the paragraphs. Don't forget to click Save! 2. Generate 1 higher order critical thinking question with thorough answer. (See the cheat sheet for creating questions which is attached to your Achieve email – look for the paperclip icon.) Don't forget to click Save! 3. Answer the Activity questions. I ONLY count your FIRST response so go back in the text and make it count! (Why? You do not get a second chance on FSA. Get in the habit now of making your first response count.) 4. EXTRA CREDIT: 75% or higher on the Stretch article/activity. (NO credit below 75% on first attempt). You have nothing to lose and everything to gain so just give it your best try! 5. If you finish before the next Achieve article, you are to go on to our class website and complete activities on your weak skill areas via the Extra Learning and Resources tab in the top menu bar: mchone1617.weebly.com |
